A Fine Pair of First Period Dr. Wall Worcester Vases, of baluster shape, vibrantly painted in the kakiemon palette with panels of phoenix birds perched on flowering prunus branches, the sides with smaller similar panels and at the neck panels containing further flowering peonies, framed with elegant gold scrollwork and foliate sprigs, reserved on a blue scale ground.

Circa 1768

Height: 81⁄2 ins (21.5 cms) Marks: Blue square to the underside of each vase.
