Pair of Chantilly Kakiemon Bough Pots, with pierced tops painted with flowerheads above panelled sides enamelled with banded hedges, flowering bamboo and prunus.
Circa: 1735

Width: 63/8 in (16 cm)

Iron-Red Hunting Horn Marks

Provenance: Marguerite Glover

The pierced tops are for the use of single specimens of flowers to be constantly changed throughout the year from season to season. During Winter grasses would have been used. The two bough pots could also have been placed together back to back for use in the centre of the table, making them extremely versatile within the interior.
