A First Period Dr Wall Worcester Trio, the coffee cup and teacup with double interlaced handles, beautifully decorated in the London atelier of James Giles with sprays of European flowers beneath an irregular gold scrolled cornucopia apple green border.

Circa 1770

Marks: crossed swords and numeral 9 in underglaze blue to all pieces.

Compare the flower painting with a dessert service, see Gerald Coke, op. cit. p. 190 pl. 18 (b) this shows an exotic bird surrounded by sprigs of European flowers by the same hand, this service links the exotic birds to the Meissen style flower painting.

Circa 1770-1772.
