A Worcester scalloped dessert plate, the centre painted by Jeffryes Hamett O'Neale with the Fable of the Laden Ass and the Horse, showing a donkey to the right encumbered by its heavy load, whilst a white hose trots neatly up from the left, within a wooded landscape with a river beyond and birds circling in the sky above, within a complex gilt scrolled and diaper lambrequin border, on a wet blue ground, with gilt dentil rim. Circa 1768-70. Diameter:

Mark: fretted square in underglaze blue.
