A scalloped Worcester dessert plate, the centre painted by Jeffryes Hamett O'Neale with the Fable of 'The Wolf and the Lamb', showing a lamb beside a snarling wolf near to the banks of a river which stretchs back from a cascade in the foreground beside rocks to high peaked pastel shaded mountains, they stand before tall trees with slightly bent down windswept branches, whilst a flock of birds fly in a line overhead, within a simple gold scrolled border of 'Heathcote' type, on a wet blue ground, with gilt dentil edge. Circa 1768-70. Diameter: Mark: fretted square in underglaze blue to the underside.
