A fine pair of Derby Goldfinches, each delicately and naturalistically painted and perched on a tree stump issuing brightly coloured leaves and flowers, both in typically animated pose, one upright and alert, the other looking to one side, each spreading base painted with a moth in flight in tones of red, black and yellow.

A very rare and Large Early Derby Shell Sweetmeat Stand or Punch Bowl, the exceptionally well formed scalloped shell upended and resting on a rockwork base applied with seaweed and encrusted with many smaller shells and nautiluses.

A fine Flight, Barr & Barr, Worcester topographical inkstand of waisted rectangular form with entwined serpent handles, and two inkwells and covers, well painted with a named view of "Worcester" reserved against a cobalt blue and gilt ground.

A rare Chelsea white model of a Child's Head after Fiammingo turned slightly to his left and tilted downwards, his lips parted and hair tousled; on a waisted wooden socle.

According to Elizabeth Adams "Chelsea Porcelain" P.31. in the early part of the seventeenth century the Flemish sculptor, François Duquesnoy, spent most of his life in Italy and was popularly known as Il Flammingo.

A Chamberlain's Worcester part Dessert Service, each piece finely painted with roundels of Kakiemon flowers reserved on a densely painted orange foliate ground, all within a gilt-edged rim, comprising:
a pair of ice pails,
covers and liners a sauce tureen,
cover and ladle a large circular dish a pair of circular dishes
and twenty-one plates.

A very finely coloured Minton Majolica Monkey Teapot and Cover, modelled in the form of a monkey wearing a blue jacket with stylised puce mons, clutching a yellow coconut, the spout formed as a bamboo with green palm leaves applied beneath, the head with smiling face and widely opened eyes forming the cover, with green knop finial.

Circa 1875.

Height: 7 ins. (17.5cms.)

Impressed mark.

This example is very well coloured with an unusually full palette, which makes it highly desirable. The monkey, nut, bamboo and stylised mons are all features of the aesthetic movement and illustrate the avid interest of the West with the East.
